Dust, smudges, and/or lint present on the resin 3D printer's LCD surface may affect printing. In order to increase your success rate in resin 3D printing, we recommend you keep your LCD clean at all times.
1. Common LCD Cleaning Methods
Dry cleaning
- Prepare a dry and clean microfiber cloth or a rubber air blower
- Gently clean all visible dust and lint from the LCD’s surface
Wet cleaning
- Apply a small amount of 95% sanitizing alcohol on the LCD screen
- Prepare a soft kitchen paper towel or a fiber cloth
- Wipe the LCD screen in one direction to remove any cured resin, smudges, and/or fingerprints
2. Cleaning the LCD after Resin Spill
Cleaning the LCD screen after resin spill is quite different from the usual cleaning method. Please follow the steps below:
- Dampen soft paper towels in 95% sanitizing alcohol
- Cover the cured resin on the LCD screen with soaked paper towels
- Cover the soft paper towels with a plastic wrap (12 to 24 hours) based on the extent of the resin spill or leakage
- Spray sanitizing alcohol wherever there is a spillage or leakage to soften cured resin
- Remove the softened resin
DO NOT use metal scrapers or any other metal objects to remove resin from the LCD screen. This can prevent the LCD screen from being damaged.
