1. Importance of Firmware Updates:
Firmware is like the brain of your printer, controlling its hardware components and ensuring smooth operation. By staying current with firmware updates, you can unlock new features, improve print quality, and enhance overall performance.
2. Firmware Update Instructions:
Each Phrozen printer model may require a different process for firmware updates. Follow these step-by-step instructions tailored to your specific printer model:
After successfully installing the firmware update, please be sure to re-calibrate the Z axis on your printer
Arco FDM
Before updating, please read the important notes in the upper section, then proceed with the firmware update process in the lower section.
Arco FDM Pre-Update Important Notes:
- During the firmware upgrade process, please avoid actions such as inserting/removing the USB or powering off the device to prevent update failure.
- Before updating, please check the Arco firmware version. If the version is lower than V1.7.7, you must first upgrade to V1.7.7, then proceed to upgrade to V1.7.9. Versions such as V1.4.5 or V1.6.3 cannot be directly upgraded to V1.7.9.
- After completing the V1.7.7 firmware update, please ensure the Arco firmware version displayed on the information page is V1.7.7. Then, format the USB drive before proceeding with the V1.7.9 firmware update.
- Starting from V1.7.7, the port number for the web backend connection has been modified. Please append: 8808” to the IP address when accessing the backend webpage.
- The firmware versions for the Arco model were released in the following sequence: V1.4.5, V1.6.3, V1.7.7, V1.7.9, and V1.8.5.
- To use the Chroma Kit, the firmware must be upgraded to V1.7.9- Please make sure the Chroma kit is fully installed and connected to the Arco and powered on before proceeding with the upgrade.
Arco FDM firmware update steps:
- Prepare USB:
- Format the USB to FAT32 and set the allocation unit size to 4096 bytes.
- Ensure the USB drive has at least 8GB or preferably 16GB USB 2.0.
- Download Firmware:
- Download the firmware file to your PC and unzip the file.
- Save Firmware to USB:

Save the "phrozen_dev folder" from the unzipped Arco_FW_V185 folder to the root folder of the USB.
The folder **phrozen_dev** inside the USB drive must remain intact. Do not unzip or extract its contents further!

- Execute Update:
- Insert the USB into the printer (wait for 5-6 seconds until you see the USB icon appear in the top right corner, indicating the printer has successfully detected the USB).
- Go to the Settings menu on the printer and select Update.
- Complete Update:
- Once the Update Completed notification appears, remove the USB.
- Restart the printer manually. The printer will take a few moments to restart.
- Verify Update:
- After the printer restarts, go to the information page and check if the firmware version has been successfully updated.
When complete, format the USB drive to prevent the update to other firmware and causing printer failure.
Sonic Mighty Revo 16K.16K Upgrade Kit
Before updating, please go to the main screen and tap ” ”→”PRINTER INFO” to check the current version. 1. FPGA Version Check: If the last part of "Resolution" is V51.20, it means the FPGA is already the latest version, please skip Step 3. 2. app.bin Version Check: If the last part of the "Firmware Version" shows PRZV2.03, it means the app.bin is already the latest version, please skip Step 4. Important Note: If both app.bin and .RBF are already the latest versions, no manual update is required. Please skip Steps 3 and 4.

For version V1.1.4/V32.21/ V24.02.28,skip to the "app.bin Update Procedure" to update Pump & Fill System (V24.02.28 → V25.06.19).
Firmware Update Procedure
The firmware update for Sonic Mighty Revo 14K & Sonic Mega 8K V2 can be done in 5 steps:
[STEP 1] - Save the firmware files to a formatted USB drive
[STEP 2] - Turn OFF the printer and plug in the USB Drive
[STEP 3] - Turn the printer on and it shall auto-update the 'ChituUpgrade.bin" file
[STEP 4] - If the RBF file is out of date, press the file "xxxxx.RBF" on the touch panel
[STEP 5] - Optional: If the Pump & Fill feature is not installed, you can manually run the app.bin file and the update will start automatically
[STEP 6] - Once completed, remove the USB and restart the printer again.
[STEP 7] - Make sure to delete all the firmware files from the USB.

b. Tap "2-ALFPGA_P202_CTB_TWP_STANDBY_NEW_2.CBD"
c. Tap GO and wait for a progress bar to finish > CONFIRM
d. Tap "update.TWP" > GO > CONFIRM - Unplug the USB drive
- Done
When complete, format the USB drive to prevent the update to other firmware and causing printer failure.
Sonic Mini (For New Touch Panel Version)

- Copy all unzipped files onto the USB drive’s root page.
- Insert the USB drive into the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
- The printer will automatically update files.
- Once the update is complete, remove the USB drive and reboot the printer.
- Done

- Win32 Disk Imager: https://win32diskimager.download/
- Format the SD card with SD Formatter. (Watch tutorial video)
- Select a firmware file for your model from the table below, download and unzip the file
- Write the IMG file into your formatted SD card with Disk Imager
- Insert the SD card into your printer
- Turn on the printer
- Done
Make sure you download the firmware update specifically for your printer model. Installing inappropriate firmware may render the printer unusable.
