Removing Prints From the Building Plate

After a printing session has been completed, resin prints must be carefully removed to prevent potential damage to both the prints and the building plate. You can keep following the instructions in this article to remove resin prints safely.

1. Removing the 3D Prints

• Carefully place the building plate at an angle on a clean, flat, and stable surface
• Use the metal scraper included in the toolbox and slide it down toward the edge of the model’s bottom layer
• Remove the print from the building plate
• Check if there is any cured resin left on the building plate

Gloves are necessary to prevent your skin from getting in contact with liquid resin, as resin might cause irritation to the skin. For more information, please check out our SDS documents.

2. Prints that are Hard to Remove

If a print is difficult to remove from the building plate, we suggest trying out the following steps:

• Use a utility knife to peel one corner of the print, and then use the metal scraper to peel off the rest of the 3D print.
• Spray or soak the bottom parts of the print with sanitizing alcohol.
• Warm up the building plate by using either a heat gun or soaking the building plate in warm/hot water.

When heating the building plate, make sure the temperature doesn’t exceed the resin’s TG temperature.

Lower bottom exposure time if your prints stick too firmly onto the building plate.
