The firmware update process for Arco is slightly different from other models. Please follow the steps below carefully to ensure a successful update.
USB Preparation
- Format your USB drive to FAT32, with 4096 bytes as the allocation unit size.
- We recommend using an 8GB or 16GB USB 2.0 drive.
- Please perform the formatting on a Windows system.
Download Firmware Files
- Check your current firmware version. If it is below 1.7.7, you must update in the following order:
V1.4.5 → V1.6.3 → V1.7.7 → V1.7.9
- Visit the firmware update page on the Phrozen official website and download the appropriate version.
- After extracting the ZIP file, you will find a folder named “phrozen_dev”.
- Copy this folder into a clean USB drive (make sure there are no other files on the USB).
- Open the USB to confirm the folder structure is correct.
Performing the Update
- If you are using the Chroma Kit (multi-color printing module), make sure it remains connected to the printer throughout the update.
- Insert the USB into the Arco. After a few seconds, a USB icon should appear in the top-right corner of the screen, indicating the USB has been recognized.
- Go to the “Settings” menu.
- Tap “Update”, then confirm again in the pop-up window to begin the update .
- Once the update is complete, a confirmation message will appear.
- Manually power off and restart the machine.
- After rebooting, tap the “i” (Info) icon in the bottom-left corner and tap Printer Info to verify that the firmware version has been successfully updated.
