If the insufficient filament detection is falsely triggered, it may be due to a misalignment caused by the Hall-effect magnet shifting during use. Follow the steps below to adjust the sensor and restore normal operation.
Tools Required
-
2.5mm hex wrench
Adjustment Steps
1. Remove the Magnetic Front Cover
Detach the magnetic front cover to access the extruder unit.
2. Remove the Front Extruder Unit
First, disconnect the ribbon cable.
Then, use the 2.5mm hex wrench to remove the three screws securing the front unit.
For the correct removal process of the front extruder cover, please follow these steps before removing the black front cover:
Heat up the nozzle according to the filament type.
Retract the filament using the Retract function under Tools → Extruder.
Once the filament has been fully retracted, it is safe to remove the black front extruder cover.
3. Inspect the Sensor Assembly
The insufficient filament detection is triggered by a Hall-effect magnet. If the magnet has shifted, the increased gap may cause false detection.
4. Adjust the Hall Sensor
Use the 2.5mm hex wrench to loosen the screw securing the Hall sensor board.
Remove the Hall sensor board.
Press the brass insert downward into the mechanism until it is flush with the side.
Remove the magnet and spring, then use a hex wrench to assist in reinstalling both components according to the reference image.
Reinstall and tighten the screw and Hall sensor board securely.
5. Reassemble the Components
Reinstall all removed parts in reverse order. The printer should now operate normally.
