During FDM printing, filament may occasionally become jammed in the extruder due to various factors, potentially affecting print quality and machine performance. To help you resolve this issue efficiently, we’ve prepared the following troubleshooting guide.
For the correct removal process of the front extruder cover, please follow these steps before removing the black front cover:
Heat up the nozzle according to the filament type.
Retract the filament using the Retract function under Tools → Extruder.
Once the filament has been fully retracted, it is safe to remove the black front extruder cover.
Tools Required:
- 2.5mm hex wrench
- 2mm hex wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Preparation
- Position and Unload Filament
Use the manual control function to move the extruder to a convenient working position. - Set Extruder Temperature to 250°C
Tap the extruder button on the screen and set the temperature to 250°C. - Remove Filament
- Option 1: Once heated, press the extrude button 2–3 times, then press retract to pull back any remaining filament.
- Option 1: Once heated, press the extrude button 2–3 times, then press retract to pull back any remaining filament.
- Power Off the Machine
After removing the filament, turn off the machine before proceeding.
Disassemble the Extruder
- Remove Front Cover
The front cover is magnetically attached and can be easily removed. - Disconnect Front Cover Cable
Carefully unplug the cable from the front cover and set it aside. - Disconnect Heating Module Cables
Unplug the black cables connecting the main unit to the heating block. - Remove Front Panel
After removing the remaining screws, the front panel can be taken off.
If you encounter resistance while removing the front cover, you may need to loosen the extruder gear spacing adjustment screw on the side after removing the main screws. In some cases, the filament may be caught at the end of the gear, preventing the cover from being removed smoothly

Be sure to note the original position before loosening, so you can restore the gear spacing during reassembly. This ensures proper filament feeding in future prints.
Remove the Jammed Filament
Once disassembled, you’ll be able to easily access and remove the jammed filament.
