[Sonic Mega 8K V2] Replacing the Touch Panel

When the touch panel of your printer becomes malfunctional or broken, a replacement will be necessary. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps of replacing the touch panel on the Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K V2.

1. Removing the Old Touch Panel

Power down and prepare

• Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
• Loosen the 8 flathead screws on the front case using an H2 hex key.

• Open the front case slowly to avoid damaging the cables inside.

Remove the old touch panel

• Carefully peel off the black tape securing the touch panel cable.
• Unplug the touch panel ribbon cable from the mainboard and the touch panel.

• Loosen the four screws and remove the touch panel.

2. Install the New Touch Panel

Install the new touch panel

• Place the new touch panel in the frame.
• Tighten the four screws to secure the touch panel on the printer case. 
• Reconnect both ends of the touch panel cable to the touch panel and the mainboard.
• Tighten the 8 screws to reinstall the front case.

Verify the new touch panel’s functionality

• Plug in the power cord and turn on the printer.
• Check if the new touch panel works normally.
