Embracing the all new 12K resolution and one of the Phrozen's largest resin 3D printers –Sonic Mega 8K V2 the Sonic Mighty 12K hits the perfect sweet spot between a large building plate and the capability to print extremely delicate details.
With a 10” mono-LCD screen and a 23.5 Z-axis with dual linear rails, Sonic Mighty 12K will seriously boost your productivity and work efficiency. On top of that, its 28μm 12K resolution enables everyone to create crisp and sharp prints effortlessly, regardless of their printing experiences.
In this article, we will guide you through the steps of unpacking your Sonic Mighty 12K resin 3D printer and introduce you to all the components and tools included in the box.
1. Unboxing the Printer
Each box contains a Sonic Mighty 12K resin 3D printer, wrapped safely with four sections of cushions protecting it. This includes an upper cushion, middle cushion, lower cushion, and inner cushion. The additional toolbox is placed inside the acrylic cover. Now, let’s get through the step-by-step guide on unboxing the Sonic Mighty 12K.
- Open the box from the top (make sure you do not slice too deep).
- Take the printer out of the box, then place it on a flat and stable surface.
- Remove the form packaging and the plastic wrap.
- Open the UV cover, then remove the toolbox and the inner cushion.
2. Opening the Toolbox
The toolbox provided with your Sonic Mighty 12K contains essential tools for setting up and maintaining your device. To make sure you have everything you need, double-check the contents of the toolbox and familiarize yourself with each tool before proceeding to the next step.
User manual
- Contain essential information for users to set up their Sonic Mighty 12K: the introduction of functions and capabilities of the device, keynotes before printing, and a step-by-step tutorial for setting up the 3D printer.
After-sales service & Warranty certificate
- Refer to the Warranty Certificate to find your 3D printer's serial number in case of damage or malfunctions.
- Scan the provided QR code to access 3D printing tutorials and Phrozen Warranty policy.
Gloves
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, goggles, and gloves to avoid direct contact with resin during printing.
Scraper set
- Use the metal scraper when removing models from the building plate.
- Use the plastic scraper when cleaning the resin vat or removing cured resin from the FEP film or LCD screen.
NOT using the metal scraper to remove cured resin from the FEP film is strongly advised. This can potentially harm the film and negatively impact the quality of your prints.
Power adapter
- Start up your Sonic Mighty 12K by plugging in the power adapter.
Allen wrench
- Use the Allen wrench to unscrew and tighten the building plate during the Z-axis Calibration test.
Plastic Funnel
- Use the plastic funnel to filter out excess resin after printing.
- Simply place the funnel on top of the resin bottle and pour the resin back into the bottle.
USB drive
- Sonic Mighty 12K supports USB drive file transfer as well as Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
- Use the provided USB drive to save your sliced files before plugging it into the USB port of the printer and starting to print.
