When the touch panel of your printer becomes malfunctional or broken, a replacement will be necessary. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps of replacing the Touch Panel on the Phrozen Sonic Mighty 8K.
1. Removing the Old Touch Panel
Remove the front case
- Turn of the printer and unplug the power cord
- Remove the UV cover, building plate, and resin vat
- Loosen the 4 screws and open the front case
- Detach the touch panel ribbon cable and USB cable from the mainboard
- Remove the front case
Remove the old touch panel
- Remove the tape at the tip of the old touch panel ribbon cable
- Loosen the four corner screws and remove the small black board behind the touch panel
- Spray some 95% sanitizing alcohol to soften the glue around the edge of touch panel
- Gently cut the glue off with a cutter
- Gently push the touch panel out of the case
2. Installing the New Touch Panel
Install the new touch panel
- Put the new touch panel in its place and glue the edges
- Tighten the 4 screws and install the small black board on the back of the touch panel
Reassemble other components
- Reconnect the touch panel ribbon cable to the touch panel and the mainboard
- Reconnect the USB cable
- Tighten the 4 screws and restall the front case
Verify the new touch panel’s functionality
- Plug in the power cord and switch on the printer
- Check if the new touch panel works normally
