The vat cleaning function exposes the entire LCD with UV light for several seconds, forming a thin layer of cured resin on the FEP film. We suggest performing this function if your 3D prints have failed, and a large amount of cured resin particles are scattered around the resin vat. In this article, we will show you how to use the vat cleaning function.
1. Running Vat Cleaning Function
- Fill resin into the vat
- Turn on the printer
- On the touch panel, click TOOLS 🛠 → VAT CLEANING
- Set the exposure time to 30~60 seconds → click NEXT
- A thin layer of resin should cure on the FEP film
2. Remove the Thin Layer of Cured Resin
- Gently pour resin back to the bottle through the funnel in the toolbox
- Clean the excess resin in the vat with a clean kitchen paper towel
- Spray 95% sanitizing alcohol onto the thin layer of resin in the vat
- Let the cured resin layer sit for a while for the resin to be softened up
- Remove the cured resin layer with the plastic scraper in the toolbox
3. Clean the Resin Vat
- Spray sanitizing alcohol onto the FEP Film
- Wipe off excess resin on the FEP film with a kitchen paper towel
- Repeat the above 2 steps and clean the edges until the entire resin vat has been thoroughly cleaned
- Attach the resin vat back onto the LCD 3D printer
