[Sonic Mega 8K V2] Pump & Fill Installation

Before starting to utilize the Auto Pump and Fill function, it is a must to install the Auto Pump and Fill Resin Feeder for your Sonic Mega 8K V2. Don’t worry that this process is complicated or difficult because this article will provide you with a step-by-step instruction. 

1. Power down and Prepare

• Turn off the printer and unplug it.
• Prepare an Allen wrench and a resin bootle (Aqua-Gray 8K for example).
• Remove the baffle on the left of the Z-axis by loosening the screws with an Allen wrench

• Loosen the 8 flathead screws on the back cover using the H2 hex key.

• Loosen the 2 flathead screws on the top cover using the H5 hex key.

• Remove the back cover completely from the printer and put it aside.

2. Connect the Motor Cable and the Sensor Cable

• Pass the Motor Cable (Red) and Sensor Cable (Blue) through the hole on the baffle.

• Connect the red motor cable to the red port and the blue sensor cable to the blue port on the Auto Pump and Fill's Mainboard.

• Reinstall the back cover of the printer.

3. Install other parts 

• Use the Allen wrench to place and fix the inlet pump onto the surface panel of the printer. 
• Pass the inlet hose through the hole on the back side of the printer.

• Place the pump lid onto the resin bottle.
• Put the resin bottle into the designated slot on the pump case.
• Insert one end of the bottle cap infusion tube onto the pump lid having metal extrusion.

• Install the other end of the bottle cap infusion tube to the Peristaltic tube.

• Connect one end of the lid data cable to the black top on the pump lid

• Connect the other end of the lid data cable to the back of the pump unit

• Insert the inlet tube to the peristaltic tube located on the right side of the pump unit

• Connect one end of the Pump Data cable to the back of the Pump Unit.

• Connect the other end of the pump data cable to the back of your Sonic Mega 8K V2 printer.

• Make sure the white peristaltic tube is tightened by pulling on both end of the tube in the upward direction

4. Check the Auto Pump and Fill Device’s Functions

• Plug the power cord and turn on the printer
• On the touch screen, select “TOOLS” → click “RESIN AUTO FILL/PUMP”
