What’s Wrong with my Resin 3D Print?
When inspecting your 3D print, you notice that the bottom of the 3D print seems to be distorted on the sharp corners or the entire surface of the 3D model.

What Causes the Issue?
Bottom distortion usually occurs on prints with a flat bottom surface. The reason for this is that the first few printed layers cannot withstand the pulling force when being released from the FEP or PFA (nFEP) film. Even though the 3D print has successfully attached itself to the supports, the parts in between the supports are distorted.

Troubleshooting the Bottom Distorting Issue
Resolving this issue requires rotating the model and adjusting the supports. We suggest following the steps down below to resolve the issue:
Adjust Model Rotation:
- Rotate the 3D model on both the X-axis and Y-axis at around 15 degrees.
- DO NOT set supports in a line.

Support Setup in CHITUBOX:
- Increase the Upper Diameter and Support Density. For suggested values, please refer to this article.
- To avoid sharp corner distortions, choose Skate as Connection Shape for the first support and place it at the corner.
